We recognise that STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths, is part of everyday life and an increasing part of every workplace. STEM education enables students to develop solutions to complex problems and provides them with literacies and capabilities that will help them succeed in a world of technological change. As future innovators, educators, researchers and leaders, it is important that students develop the skills required to compete on a global scale. We are proud to offer a variety of opportunities for students to harness these skills at Narangba State School. 


Our innovative STEM program includes:                

  • STEM Teaching Specialist to support staff and students
  • Integrated STEM units of inquiry aligned to the Australian Curriculum for every year level
  • Developing student coding and robotics skills from prep to year 6
  • STEM links with other schools and organisations to enhance student knowledge and opportunities in the areas of STEM
  • Extra-curricular activities including coding, drone and robotics clubs, mathematics academies, science and engineering academies, press club
  • Additional industry events and external opportunities including; The Wonder of Science, First Lego League, Robo Cup Junior, Solar Buddy, Solar Schools, QUT Science van, National Science Week event, Premier Coding Challenge, Internet Safety Day and Bebras Challenge.
