Should your child be required by their medical practitioner to take medication while at school, Department of Education and Training regulations with respect to this matter should be followed.
The parent or guardian must in the first instance make a written request to the principal of the school. The relevant form is available at the office.
The student's medication, with the pharmacist's written instructions on the container must be lodged with the school’s office for security purposes.
Administration of that medication will be carried out by an adult staff member designated by the principal.
Non-prescribed medications in an unopened box, labelled by the pharmacist including the student’s name and dosage must be handed to school staff together with a letter from a medical practitioner authorising administration of this medication.
